What Customers Say About Apple 80 GB iPod AAC/MP3 Video Player Black (5.5 Generation):
|
|
I bought this generation 5.5 ipod to use with an older video viewer I have. The company I ordered it from was very quick, and it was well packed. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the ipod touch but 5 to 10 times more room (for more movies).
This one has 80GB which is plenty of room for the movie and video podcast files I have. Screen is much clearer than the zune, although slightly smaller I guess. Unfortunately the video viewer will not work with the newer generation ipods.
I've had some friends who have experienced this model locking up on occasion but so far I have not had this problem. I prefer to use the video viewer for trips and apple TV for home. As with all ipods I have owned, this one is especially nice for the price and for what I use it for.
Overall very happy with this purchase. Five stars for them too.
With the 80gb hard drive, I'm only filling about 15% of its usable memory, so there is plenty of room to grow with me. I used a 4gb mini ipod for about 4 years, until it was lost/stolen (not sure). It functions great, looks great, and I'm happy with its navigability. I wanted a replacement to use to plug into the auxiliary jack for my truck's sound system. I always had to limit my music downloaded onto my ipod, but not so anymore. Overall, if you want a music player that will also store/share photos, videos, show album artwork, and all backed by the Apple brand. Then this is for you.
The iTunes software interface is lightning fast. This one vastly improved the color screen and the functionality. My previous iPod lacked sufficient battery life and the basic video features. I mean it takes seconds to start ripping music. Covers for artwork, podcasts, and far easier ability to access the videos. I really like the click wheel for operation. Also, Apple highly compressing the music so you can load a ton of songs quick and still have tons of storage capacity to work with.
I would not have gotten this player except for the fact that it can be rockboxed (www.rockbox.org) and it sounds fantastic with the replacement firmware. I am currently playing FLAC and OGG files.
I was very pleased with their customer service. I recieved an 80GB ipod. When I recieved the ipod for the second time, it worked and seems to be in perfect working condition. When I took it out, it did not work(maybe UPS didn't handle with care). Ipodzens paid for 3 day air mail back to the store and back to me at their own expense, so I could have it before Christmas. I am a very skeptical person, but I am pleased with their willingness to make things right. I would recommend buying from this company.
